MARIE HELLWEG

Die Weberei is a socio-cultural institution in Gütersloh (Germany), which offers a wide range of cultural events and has also a restaurant and an outdoor area. As an event manager I was responsible for the organisation of concerts, readings, comedy shows and other events.

This included communicating and negotiating with agencies and artists, planning schedules, coordinating the team to carry out the rider and prepare our venue, production management during events and last but not least solving any problems. I also calculated budgets, organised presales and did the settlements.

Moreover we had parties every Friday and Saturday, which needed planning. I scheduled the dates for specific party formats, booked DJs and made arrangements with the technical team. Within the team we also invented and established new party formats.

As a third part of my job I was in charge of public relations.  This work included the complete social media (mostly Facebook) and website maintenance. I wrote press releases, created newsletter with MailChimp and organised interviews. I co-designed programme flyers and posters with external graphic designers and and scheduled the billposting.
